Wow
wasnt Bestival ace? one of our favourite festivals we reckon, maybe
it was the fancy dress or something,or maff crashing the main stage
in his white suit...we did the 24hr cafe too about 1 am on sunday,
but had no way of telling anyone , apart fromthe radio and the cuban
bros, who forgot to announce it , hey it might have been a bit too
nutsif they had anyway.after closing the main stage in front of
10,000 people . ' like hey its not quite over theres another gig
you can all go to, should hold about 300 people.'. . sorry about
set times changing too, we had no warning either, and were still
a bit tipsy....Anyway Fawsley was great too, and Lovebox.. and we
made a fairly odd impromptu appearance at the glade festival with
a few mates.
Anyway
weve had a ball. a big shiny beach ball and Were off to Paris this
week to play at Le Baron club on 21st Sept, and were doing Edinburgh,
and london too, check it out if you can
Thanks
for getting down at glasto. it was ace, and some nice emails about
it from people. but dont forget FAWSLEY
FAYRE in august and BESTIVAL
in September...see gigs.
2 ace festivals.. a nice egg summer sandwich, has been opened and
maybe a bit of egg in the middle too... very likely.. its great
to be doing Bestival which was a great one last year (its first)
and a bit cheaper, than some. and on the Isle of Wight. so...,and
if thats too far, were also doing LOVEBOX
Victoria Park Hackney,London. 23rd july with Groove Armada, Mylo
etc....and fawsley fayre august .oops thats sold out. well come
to fawsley then !!
MAY
Hi
thanks for coming to' being in motion' last week . it was very very
intereesting ! and a great gig. Matt Blacks Zen TV video cut ups
was hilarious, and the light surgeons.. well always spot on.. its
was a bit nuts. 50 acts in one night.. Talking of monochrome Matts,
Matt White , our fabulous guitarist is doing a stint this week with
the Bays , replacing David Bowie's David Torn, who dropped out...so
try to see them , we have, and theyre cool and lovely guys - theyre
a bit like us, only digital beats, fx basslines, house and drum
and bass, Check the bays flyer
or gigs . Were sorting out
a few more gigs soon. Manchester (june) and Bristol (july). Nice
also
thanks for good times at the tardis the other week. and the Telegraph
in Brixton, with DJs and TOOB (ex red snapper) it kicked off big
time, and those who got downstairs, the after party funk jam was
real keyboard bass funky (nice bit of the A team , Ben), yes.. till
it got itself closed down..
Weve
just been doing some music for a feature film ' The Other Half'
starring Danny Dyer (Human Traffic) and Vinnie Jones. Lost at sea,
Wall, and a bit of Forwards are on it, and a piano composition of
Neds 'rich garden' (appeared as a different version on 'mellomania'),
working on another tune for Backroom Beats 3 . yeah.Oh yes and Neds
doing another film soundtrack. hes got the pianos and cellos out
as we write this. We did a secret warm up thing the other day where
we did a few new tunes , crazy stuff. A good thing although for
the whole egg works, come to the 291
Gallery , 23rd April.
Well
do some gigs around the county soon. sorry there all in london.
A
big thankyou to all who came to the Tsunami fundraiser gig we did
last month in Kensal rise, North London. We heared they raised £6500
Theyre gonna build a school and put a teacher in it for two years
at this place in indonesia. and thanks to Ben Callum for learning
eveything n two days and playing bass so well. Talk of upcoming
gigs, probably April 23rd at a ' being in motion' night a multimedia
event in london... well let you know. At the mo were just getting
videos together for a release of Wall in Germany on "good stuff'
records ( who are releasing our tunes out there ) quite funny 16mm
of a cake fight between ned and maff, and all that .... see ya soon

HI
Happy new year! New years eve was
a laugh, we got nicely amsterdamaged and at midnight our hosts burnt
a chicken on the beach ("what, a live one? " -asked our
fellow hotel guests) 20 ft high and made of wood. then
freaked out in amsterdam (us, noit the chicken). (maff n ned lived
there aged 10 you know) . so whats going on then? were doing stuff,
got a few new tunes on the go,a kind of electro rock thing happening.
nice. in the direction of 'wall', which alot of people are loving
in germany.Walking away is getting ready for release, with
a mix by Grand National just done . were just
putting a tour together for march/april right now. so details soon.

goes wrong and we have to make it up) . nice to try out a bit of
singing, being a non projecting daytime gig. For those who couldnt
come,

MARCH

Sorry its been
a while, been very busy getting this album finished, its been nearly
nine months now!
Anyway its sounding
really good, theres quite a variety of stuff on it, a really full
on rocker, and some superfluff mellow, and an edgy funk thing or
two, interviewing pissed people in guilford etc .. will say no more
for now , but itll be out in july, and you can all run screaming
to the hillls , if you like.
The Venice Beach
e.p. mellomania-a-like thing is out april 12th. its got surprisingly
enough; venice beach, lost at sea, a vocal-ish thing ( and for the
pure funksters the instrumental version of that tune ,on the CD
ROM section of the cd, which also has games, a drum machine and
videos). Greg Hunter (engineer and co collaborator of The Orb's
first two albums) has done a great very abstract remix too.
We played supporting
SPARKS at the Ocean in Hackney, London on sun 21st March, which
was short but good , previewed a few new tracks.... For a full set
with projections etc why not come to Neighbourhood
(old Subterrania) in Londons Notting Hill on May
27... Fragile State are doing it too...details of tickets
to follow soon....
Oh Franz Ferdinand
borrowed Maffs drum kit for their 'Matinee' video, that battered
old thing, its a classic you know (1974!)
AUGUST 03
thanks
to all who made it to glastonbury ,(weve had lots of nice emails
aout the lost stage - thanks , its allways great to hear), the green
gathering (*big brown gathering actually) and Shambala festival
, which was ace.. , sorry to all who thought we were at the liquid
do , it was moved from somerset to kent and then cancelled, after
police stopped it ( despite it apparently being a legal site etc
etc
Cheers for now
