A WHILE AGO JAN 2002 : Weve been writing for ages , with a few secret gigs , some under other names , some not , new years eve in dublin was fantastic and so was zambia ! Also live recordings , & chopping in studios has been going on . Also quite a few tunes on compilations have been plannedfor the next few months.Ps. secret gig sat 23rd feb 2002 end of crucifix lane , london bridge for those of you online at the moment ! Look out for some new tracks ,"lost at sea" , "pen & paper ", "rich garden", and"venice beach" (see + hear in "other stuff") - appearing on twisted records(backroom beats)& a european compilation with kinobe + fsol etc; backroom beats 2,"the comfort zone" - lp , flying rhino and maybe a few other compilations , see this space for details. ok heres some news : MARCH 3 2002 just done a tune (very mellow) on flying rhino records comp album out in 2 months called sofa so good - tunes called 'rich garden' and also on backroom beats 2 (twisted records) comp in the summer - track called 'lost at sea' - will also be on comp in germany
APRIL 2002 just confirmed ! venice beach on Ibiza Chillout 2002(out april 22) lost at sea on 'comfort zone' in the summer Rich Garden on 'Still Life' comp - out on Universal v.soon and Rich Garden on Freestlye(flying Rhino) comp called 'SOFA' april 22 in Europe , end of May in Uk GiG at Glastonbury in june 2002 ( not sure of the stage yet ) and some residences by Ned & maff - doing some new egg tunes at the tabernacle , powis square london on April 20th as part of the AVINIT night with projections and visual treats etc .see flyer at site or avinit.co.uk AUGUST 2002- Hey, Just done some recent gigs , They were great ! Sorry its been so long.For those of you at Glastonbury this year it was great to see so many up for it people getting down. It was a great night , also apologies for being a bit knackered , it was Sunday night after all , and Ned had been up all 2 nights with 1 hour sleep in front of the pyramid stage. So there you are , but Saturdays impromptu gig at the casino bar was tighter, and there was also another one on the monday , but it wasnt really the egg , with all kinds of unexpected guests. Anyway no-one seemed to mind , especially the naked couple 'doing things' in front of the right speakers (now what would your mother say ?- unless that was her) We did some experimentation with 2 bass players , one playing keyboard bass, one analog, anyway hope everyone liked the gig,what did YOU think ? , Well we kind of thought it worked . Well definetely have a bigger stage next time , hopefully , theres just no point in a low key gig , is there? The gigs at the Tabernacle in London went great - you may not have noticed , but it was kind of experimental and underground - and we did it in secret ..join the mailing list , and youll find these things out.. .Shambala was ace too and all on video , well have to chop it up and that ll take ages, knowing us , but well try to stick it on a cd or something along with music. Gigs at Canterbury, Bristol and Brighton were great ! -- thanks to everyone who came , and all those who made it happen , photos will appear soon. A London Gig ! at last (you lot who never leave the place know you are) and youve been asking for ages, so here it is, now youd better come or youll be sorry.. NEW RELEASES The EP -'Mellowmania' has been out on a limited edition run at the festivals (changing world stall) and is all rather lovely and mellow, with tracks: lost at sea, venice beach, 111 beams per minute, quickstep & rich garden if you want funk , then apart from quickstep , it may not be you cup of tea ,but for the melloness of super relaxation , its the ticket...Most of the tracks are on other compilation albums : you can now buy mellowmania from dolphindiscs.com (actually theyve sold out temporarily, try again soon) Lost at sea is out now on 'comfort zone 5' - but its out in Germany , Austria & Switzerland -good luck if you can get an import...It will be available on 'Backroom Beats2' out soon on Twisted records/ Backroom beats recordings. Venice beach came out on April 22nd on Ministry of Sound 'chill out ibiza 2002' compilation album Rich Garden on 'Still Life' comp - out on Universal v.soon and also Rich Garden on Freestlye(flying Rhino) comp called 'SOFA' -should be out by now , but were not sure !! July 29th saw Venice Beach on new Big Chill Summer Compilation , and this time its full length , unlike the ministry of sound chill out 2002 album ,which had to cut it down to fit it on with 40 other tracks ! Maybe http://www.bigchill.net has some info Also there will be more gigs soon , including Canterbury & Bristol (see above) oh and look out for maff and Ned in the new LAMB video ('sweet') March 03 Hi, sorry for the delay, its been a bit tricky uploading recently, but now its ok Thanks to everyone who came to the recent spat of gigs . well do some more soon. and shambala fest looks likely this year , as does a 'sundaze ' organized do in sheffield on 19th july- with Hexstatic etc... were working on a new album , and have just done a cd rom , with videos of gigs etc , Its not properly released as yet , but maybe we can do something for you special people... Everyone said we hadnt updated the site for ages which is ,, er ,, true , so we added a bit to the slide show ,,,, you can play tunes below while letting it flick through....oh the joy of it all.... we promise to add groovy new movies n stuff, were so busy its difficult to find the time , what with recording ! ( and we all want a bit of that dont we ?. ...... yes... well we do) new stuff is sounding ace , some funky as ever , played at the recent gigs, some supermellow, such is the double sided sticky back plastic way we end up doing things...well there you are and this page is such a mess ! maybe well put gig listing elsewhere , but then again...........we may not get our tea APRIL 03 OK we did some stuff to the site and put up a few movies from live gigs (theyre all live arent they?) but theyre rather large so youll need broadband (at least 500k modems) unless you want to make yourself a large cup of tea for 5- 10 mins, and some of what we project behind us... Weve been getting into live video triggering , using video and cartoon animations projected . Very exiting, no honestly , really it is. AND Were seriously planning a 12' release for the end of june/ early july , but at first on 12' only, we may add cd versions in August, and planning a new album for september/ october!! oh YES TRIPLANE has been an act by maff from the egg (drums), toby pascoe from breakbeat era, and chris powell , its done 3 12"s on jelly records, microbe(france) and angel's egg(japan) and recently had 'something to get exited about' out on' future jazz 9' comp or something. on compost records , who are ace. its got a 3d cover aswell
